Why the car smell keeps coming back

Seats, carpet, and headliner are porous. Moisture, food, pet hair, and smoke residue soak in, and in a closed cabin the odor settles onto every surface, including the vents. That's why vacuuming only works for a few days — the source sits deeper than any cloth reaches.

Why fridge smell won’t wipe away

Fridge walls, shelf edges, and door gaskets are plastic and rubber. Grease and food liquids seep into microscopic cracks, and in a cold, closed, humid space that's where odor collects. Wiping the shelves doesn't end it — most of the smell is in the gaskets and pores.

What to do

Empty the food, wipe the shelves and gaskets, dry them. Put the device in, close the door, run an O₃ cycle. Afterward, leave the door open to air out.

Why it’s strongest in a closet

Shoes and gym clothes absorb sweat, and a closet is small, closed, and often humid with no airflow. Damp fabric and shoe interiors are exactly where odor builds. Washing helps the fabric, but the shoe interiors and closet walls stay untouched — so it returns within days.

What to do

Dry the shoes and clothes, wash what you can. Close the closet with the device inside and run a cycle. Open it up afterward to air out.

Why cracking a window isn’t enough

Cooking grease, smoke, and pet odor settle onto curtains, upholstery, and rugs. These act like a sponge: odor stays in them and slowly releases back into the air. Ventilation swaps the air but doesn't remove what's soaked into the fabric — so the smell returns once the window closes.
